I finished 2 mysteries during the first 6 months of this year (Whole and Pried), so I've given myself permission to work on my Endless American Dream series.
It feels like coming home.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy writing my mysteries, but those are temporary. With the Dream series, I know these characters. We've been through 4 books together and we're embarking on the 5th. I have a good sense of where they're going in book 6, and a vague idea for books 7, 8, and 9.
We're in it for the long haul and it's fun. It doesn't get any better than this. Well, yeah, it might if I get a huge contract and boatloads of money so I could quit the Day Job and write full time.
But until then, I'll enjoy what I've got!
